Newham Primary Care Trust, United Kingdom,

It employs around 1.050 staff based across 23 sites, and encompasses 65 General Practitioners, 69 pharmacists, 55 opticians and 80 dentists in the borough. The Annual Budget is £235.911.000. The overall objective of the Newham Primary Care Trust is to improve the health of the local population and address health inequalities also concerning differences between ethnic groups.

 

Activities:

·        New Entrance Service: The Newpham Primary Care Trust provides health screening and advice.

·        Practice Development Department: The staff in the Practice Development Department work with all doctor’s practices in Newham, assisting them with organisational matters.

·        Family Planning, Sexual Health and Community HIV Services: This department aims to provide comprehensive and confidential advice for women, men and young people of all ages, covering all aspects of contraception, sexual health and HIV services in the community.

·        Health Advocacy Service: Newham Primary Care Trust’s Health Advocacy Service provides information on a range of Primary Care services. Lawyers support the clients to access information on aspects of care, treatment and access health services.

·        Psychological and health counselling: This service is composed of four expert teams: Clinical Health, Learning Disabilities, Primary Care counselling and Primary Care psychology.
