Further Reading on Regularsiations in Europe

REGULARISATIONS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS  IN THE EUROPEAN UNION, Odysseus Network  (Academic network for legal studies on immigration and asylum in Europe). Brussels, 2000.

The first comparative law study of the academic network for legal studies in the field of immigration and asylum in Europe deals with a very current issue which could not be more at the heart of migration policy of the Member States of the European Union, but which has still not received sufficient attention from lawyers. For each of the eight States (Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom) this book offers a description of the procedures which have taken place until the beginning of the year 2000, a systematic analysis of the different categories of foreigners affected, the type of regularisation processes implemented and the rules for each procedure. Apart from our comparative synthesis, the reader can also find included briefer studies of other states (Denmark, Luxembourg, Portugal, Sweden) as well as relevant statistical information.

The results of our study  have  been presented during a European seminar held at the Free University of Brussels - U.L.B. on 30 June 2000 and have also been published as a book bearing the title: "Regularisation of Illegal Immigrants in the European Union".
